First Meet ... Thursday, September 12th
Parents and Swimmers,
Girls swim practice begins Monday, August 26th, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., until Friday, August 30th, at the Aqua Club in Kenmore, WA. The address is: 18512 - 58th Avenue NE, Kenmore, WA 98028.
We will be having Time Trials on Friday, the 30th, and invite available parents who want to learn the art of timing for those trials. You must have your volunteer forms turned in ASAP.
We begin training at Juanita High School on the 3rd of September at 5:15 a.m. until 6:15 a.m. This is early morning and State Law says that persons under the age of 18 should not drive prior to 5:00 a.m. I suggest that swimmers who can, car pool to practice then on to school by 6:45 a.m. or earlier.
This coming week's practice counts towards the ten (10) required team workouts to be able to swim in our first meet on September 12th, 3:00 p.m., at the Juanita Pool against Juanita and Lake Washington High Schools. After our first meet, it is required that swimmers attend three team practices minimum per week to participate at each meet. Club or other practices do not count. Rules on practice can be found under WIAA Rules 17.12.0.
We still have some sports packets that have not been turned in or were turned in incomplete. Please take care of this along with Fee for Sport - $154.00 and ASB Card - $55.00. One check please for $209.00. Turn these in to the Athletic Office at Inglemoor. Those who are 9th graders will have their ASB Cards marked Freshman on them.
Keep good thoughts for Coach Deb, she will try to be at Dive Practice on Monday.
Thanks you and GO VIKS,
Being a team,
It sounds simple. But it’s not.
It’s not just that we have some talent, of course we do, but it runs far deeper than that.
It’s about creating and sustaining a team culture that promotes and inspires the best performance in all of our Inglemoor Girls Swim and Dive Team.
Our Girls on the team call themselves “A Band of Sisters” and in that, they work to make the team work. Each unto the other and in harmony with their tasks at hand in swimming and education, which they well know comes first. Team pride, pride in self, and pride in each other go hand in hand for these girls and I am proud to be their coach.
Girls 2013 IHS Swim & Dive
Volunteers are required to register with the school district and have a Washington State Patrol background check on file before they may work with the students. That means everyone who is a timer, runner, scorer, starter, or who helps with the swim meet must complete the appropriate paperwork.
Northshore School District volunteer information is available by clicking here. The forms are also available on the IHS web site (select the "Information Center" button on the left then go to "Volunteer Information"). The form must be returned in person by the adult volunteer to the IHS Main Office. That means returned by the adult volunteer, not returned by a student.
